Welcome everyone to Autumn and our first ever blog, in fact the past 16 months have been a whole series of “first evers” for us. We have both settled into our new life here at 31 The Rocks and are thoroughly enjoying living on the Granite Belt in Stanthorpe.
Exceptional wine, beer and cider, fantastic dining, mouth-watering local fresh produce and cheese and a wonderfully friendly community. As ex-Brisbanites we sure are enjoying the lack of humidity and the cool nights – perfect sleeping weather!
Stanthorpe is a world all of its own within our Sunshine State and something it does with a subtle gracious air is take us on a journey of incredible beauty through the changing of the seasons. Autumn is natures grand finale bursting with its last beauty – a truly stunning vibrant palette of rich reds, auburns, oranges, yellows and browns. Autumn is our season for apples and pears, figs, olives, stone fruits and of course grapes. The white grapes are mostly in, with the last of the grapes to be picked in Autumn usually the big reds, and whilst the grapes are being picked, the wineries are busy crushing, pressing and fermenting. Apples and pears are also being picked along with a huge range of vegetables.
Autumn is full of activity and amongst all the beauty that Autumn has to offer, we are also looking forward to the heaps of events taking place here on the Granite Belt. Autumn and Easter go hand in hand, but as well we have Grazing the Granite Belt, Opera in the Vineyard, Music in the Gallery, our Antiques & Collectable Fair and of course the Great Granite Escape Bike Ride.
Autumn is the start of our log fire season so why not come and join us? We have our midweek Relax and Escape Package, or for a little bit more of a romantic edge there’s our Luxury Lovers Deal. Check these out on our website, like us on Facebook, follow us on Instagram.
